Southport

Southport is a charming coastal town where shopping, dining, history, and just enjoying a waterfront breeze are all celebrated on a daily basis. And while it’s tempting to just find a shaded front porch, settle in, and admire the view – a popular local pastime – there’s miles of fun to be discovered in this lower Cape Fear vacation destination.

The abundance of one-of-a-kind coastal shops and boutiques of Southport offer the perfect opportunity to find unique treasures and special souvenirs.  In addition to a stroll around Southport’s walkable downtown area, the numerous art galleries offer a tranquil space for art appreciation as well as an escape from the heat.  An award-winning weekly newspaper, The State Port Pilot, is located in the city and serves as the source of local information for its residents.  Further, Southport has been a popular filming location for television and movies, including film adaptations of the works of novelist Nicolas Sparks.  The town, in addition to our director of operations Kalani, can be seen in the television series Dawson’s Creek.  Lastly, recommended unanimously by our office is a visit to the North Carolina Fourth of July Festival, which attracts 40,000 to 50,000 visitors annually.
